Kaskade. Check him out (especially Kendra and Pookie). Particularly the tracks Move for Me, Stepping Out, and Be Still. It's my new musical drug, if you will! =-)

New-age icon Yanni [ tickets ] will return to the road next spring to support his first new studio album in six years.

The first leg of the musician's world tour--an extensive run through North America--is scheduled to kick off April 10 with a half-dozen shows in Florida. Those concerts will be followed by more than 40 stops across the US and into Canada through early July, including a two-night stand at New York City's Radio City Music Hall. More performances will be announced shortly, according to Yanni's website, and confirmed dates are listed below.
The Grammy-nominated composer/pianist is getting ready for the big push behind his forthcoming album, "Yanni Voices," which is set for a March 24 release. The record marks the first time Yanni has brought vocals to the forefront of his music.

"Global sounds and musical traditions have always served as my inspiration," Yanni said in a statement. "Now, I am ready to integrate the greatest instrument of all--the human voice--into my musical palette."

He worked with Grammy-winning producer Ric Wake (Celine Dion, Barry Manilow) to find four young vocal talents--Nathan Pacheco, Chloe, Ender Thomas and Leslie Mills--who grace the album and will appear on tour.

The vocalists are introduced to Yanni fans in a current PBS-TV special, which gives an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the making of "Yanni Voices." The album will also be the subject of a second PBS special that showcases a recent concert filmed at the Forum at Mundo Imperial in Acapulco, Mexico. That program is scheduled to premiere March 2.

Yanni's forthcoming release is the first under his new wide-ranging deal with Disney Music Group imprint Disney Pearl Series.

The musician's most recent studio effort, 2003's "Ethnicity," debuted at the top of New Age album charts. He followed that in 2006 with "Yanni Live!: The Concert Event."

For the second time....

Aug. 3rd, 2008 | 10:40 am

For the second time, in as little as 2 years, my sister and brother in law have made me an uncle. This time to a 6lb 9 oz baby boy, Casen James. Not only am I an uncle again, but I am also a Godfather!!!!! Yes, I am a Godfather.
It's interesting to be given such a title since I don't really believe in God at all and my Sister doesn't even attend any sort of church. Still, It's nice to be trusted with such a thing and I look forward to coming home in November to meet him!

It seems I have forgiven Coldplay for the trainwreck better known as X&Y. PE purchaesd their new album VIVA LA VIDA (which I had vetoed) and forced me to listen to it. It is EXCELLENT! It's easily their best work since Parachutes. They aren't trying to impress anyone this time around, just make music. Well, it works. I really, REALLY dig it!

I am going to see an oldie but a goodie in concert. Pearl Jam is doing a short, east coast jaunt and I'm attending tonight's Tampa show! I'm actually REALLY looking forward to it! While I do enjoy their most recent release, I am REALLY pulling for some old favorites. We'll see!
Hope all is well in the desert!
